Taylor Swift became an incredibly popular artist and singer in the beginning of 2001 with her tales of pain and heartbreak. Swift's love for music started in the early years of her life. From children's plays to appearing in front of crowds, Swift made rapid progress. Swift was eleven years old when she first performed The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers Basketball game. In the following year she started writing her own songs and got a guitar. Swift had taken her influences from the music of Shania Twain and The Dixie Chicks now known as The Chicks within the realm in country music created the songs of her own to convey her experience with alienation. In the year 13 Swift's parents sold their farm in Pennsylvania to move to Hendersonville Tennessee so she could spend more time to courting country labels near Nashville.
